CSP started its first vehicle-to-infrastructure experiments in 2004 using 802.11b/g devices at 2.4GHz. We carried out performance assessments of wireless links between vehicles and roadside units and identified applications that could be deployed on this scenario.
Currently, activities are focused on vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) scenarios that address both safety and infotainment/logistic applications.
- Standard and draft analysis for safety application; communication components behavior is evaluated through simulations and test beds;
- IEEE 802.11p and GeoNetworking software module implementation and validation;
- Performance analysis of commercial devices for V2I and V2V communications;
- Infotainment application design and deployment.
